Fairland Park has had a friends group for a number of years. We worked with the council on the parks recent redevelopment plans, fund raising and implementation.
As part of the fund raising (including for events) we are required to have a committee. Members are elected each year at our annual AGM, which happened again recently. To update they are;
Chair: Matt Burge
Secretary: Steve Burdekin
Treasurer: Deborah Peacock
Events: Adam Coffman
Gardening: Alison Park
Now that the park has established itself since redevelopment a year ago a number of people thought it a good idea to get together more regularly to do a little gardening & general tidying up. Please join us for our first get together on;
Sunday Nov 6th, 10am – 12noon
Bring along gardening tools, tea & cake 🙂
Friends of Fairland Park Annual General Meeting
Thursday 6th October
Venue: Garden Ladder, Green Lanes
Which went very well; over 200 enthusiastic revellers not put off by the wet weather before hand. There’s something special about an outside film experience!
And in dark;
Well done to Adam Coffman of the Friends group for organising this. He has been absolutely determined to see this happen (in the park rather than a church hall)!
Fairland Park retains its ‘Green Flag’ status for another year. This award is run by Keep Britain Tidy. This is what they have to say about Fairland Park;
Fairland Park, is located between the rungs of Haringey’s famous “Ladder” of streets between Wood Green and Finsbury Park. It exists to provide a horticultural oasis of scent and colour to enhance the local urban environment for the benefit of all, whilst providing suitable recreational facilities to encourage a range of healthy, educational and leisure activities within a clean and safe environment.
